English Requirement

for Graduate Students

Global Launch at Arizona State University (ASU) offers two online English preparation programs for international

students who are seeking graduate admission to ASU and need proof of English prociency. Students are welcome

to choose either program after meeting the minimum exam score requirement listed in the chart:

English for Graduate Admissions & Achievement EGAA(Online)

8-week course I Offered 5 times per year I Asynchronous class; For self-directed applicants who want a exible study schedule

English Language Program - ELP (Online & In person)

8-week course I Offered 5 times per year I Synchronous class; For students who prefer structured classes and live lectures to help

Why Global Launch?

*ASU does not currently accept the TOEFL at home test.

As part of the Thunderbird admission requirements, the student’s English level will be considered based on one of

the following English exams:

Exam Score Range English Course Requirement

TOEFL* 100+ Direct Entry - you will be eligible for admission without further English study.

TOEFL* 80-99 Required to take EGAA or ELP 8-week course.

IELTS 7.5+ Direct Entry - you will be eligible for admission without further English study.

IELTS 6.5-7.0 Required to take EGAA or ELP 8-week course.
