Dear Parents,
SIXTH FORM TEXTBOOKS
I am sure that you will be aware that Government funding for Sixth Forms has been dramatically reduced over
recent years. As a result, RGS has had to adopt a number of measures to ensure we can still provide the high quality
and diverse curriculum of which we are so proud. One of these measures has been to ask Sixth Form students to
pay for their textbooks. We regret having to make this request but would very much appreciate your support.
It is possible that some departments will be able to provide books where there is a surplus from previous years. In
most cases, however, your son will be asked to obtain his own textbooks. The Sixth Form team has prepared details
about the Year 12 and 13 books that are required which you will find below. Should you have any difficulty in
funding your son’s books, please contact me (sjn@rgshw.com) or Mrs Wallace (sjw@rgshw.com) in confidence.
I shall look forward to seeing your son in the Sixth Form at RGS. Please note that prior to the end of term, you will
be sent a link to the ‘Into the Sixth’ web portal which will give students much information about joining the Sixth
Form at RGS including dress code, the timetable for the Y12 Induction Day, Sixth Form subscription, etc.
