Installation
1. Jack up front of vehicle and place jack stands under vehicle frame. Do not support vehicle
using A-Arms.
2. Begin with one side and remove wheel. Note: This installation may be performed easiest
with brake assembly and rotor removed. This can be completed now.
3. Locate upper ball joint, remove cotter pin and loosen nut. Do not remove nut.
4. Separate upper ball joint from steering knuckle using a ball joint separator.
5. From inside the engine compartment loosen but do not remove the (4) shock tower bolts.
Driver’s side may require brake lines to be loosened and moved.
6. Now remove the nut from the upper ball joint, remove the (4) shock tower bolts from the
engine compartment and remove upper A-Arm assembly from vehicle.
7. There are (2) options for upper ball joints, the stock ball joint can be removed and
reused or purchase (2) new ball joints to install (Recommended). If reusing your stock ball
joints you must grind the rivets off the stock A-Arm and use new hardware to install them to
the new A-Arms. New ball joints will come supplied with the correct bolts and will bolt
directly to the new A-Arm. When purchasing new upper ball joints purchasing them for any
93-02 Camaro/Firebird.
8. Remove the stock A-Arm from the mounting plate. Locate a new A-Arm and place in the
location the factory A-Arm was removed and tighten bolts. The ball joint mounting plate will
be facing in an upward angle. Make sure the correct A-Arm is installed on the correct side!
Use Image 1 below for correct A-Arm direction.
9. Place A-Arm assembly with new A-Arm into the vehicle. Snug the (4) bolts from inside
the engine compartment to assembly in place.
10. Reinstall upper ball joint into steering knuckle using ball joint nut and cotter pin, tighten
nut. Do not forget cotter pin.
11. Move to Step 7 in above directions and continue install on other side.
