LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION: EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER OF HOLY COMMUNION
Dear Bishop Caggiano,
I am writing to recommend ______________________________________________ for service to our
parish ________________________________________________________________ as an Extraordinary
Minister of Holy Communion.
I can attest to his/her readiness to accept this responsibility and his/her compliance with
the requirements of this ministry:
1. Being of at least 16 years old;
2. Being a fully-initiated Catholic Christian who has been confirmed and has
already received the most holy sacrament of the Eucharist;
3. Being of good moral character;
4. Not being bound by any canonical penalty legitimately imposed or declared;
5. Demonstrating a genuine reverence and respect for the Most Blessed Sacrament;
6. If married, being in a valid marriage according to the prescriptions of the current
Code of Canon Law;
7. Being in full compliance with the norms of the Safe Environment Program of the
Diocese of Bridgeport.

part of formation and that he/she will need to complete the required registration and
formation online, as well as attend one face-to-face formation session before receiving a
mandate for service.
