Submittal Requirements:
By signing this application the property owner understands that in addition to Orange County’s regulations,
there may be private regulations or approval restrictions that will affect your ability to have a garage sale. If
applicable, please consult with your Homeowner Association prior to applying for your garage sale permit.
Per Zoning code sections 25-28 and 31, Garage Sales shall be permitted for only the duration of 48 hours and
shall be conducted only once every six (6) months on a single lot, parcel, or tract of land. Any person holding a
garage sale shall be permitted to display one (1) advertising sign or poster, not to exceed four (4) square feet
in area, which sign or poster shall not be p laced in the public right-of-way and shall be removed from the
premises of such sale immediately at the conclusion of such sale. All off site directional signs for the garage
sale shall follow code section 31.5-127 (b)
. The cost per sticker is $4.50, a $1 discount will be granted if all six
(6) stickers are
purchased for a garage sale.
