what you need to do. Completing the
steps listed here will ensure you’re on
your way to becoming an OSU Cowboy.

materials. We need these scholarship
materials so you are considered for all
possible scholarships. You may have
been admitted without a transcript or
test scores, but we need them BOTH for
scholarship consideration.

O-KEY ACCOUNT

Your O-Key account is your passport to
campus. You have to set it up before
you can access your OSU email account,
accept your scholarships and financial
aid, sign up for housing, enroll in classes
and more, so it’s important to do this
as soon as possible. To set it up, go to
okey.okstate.edu and click on O-Key
Activation.

For your security, your O-Key password
will expire every 120 days. If you’re locked
out of your account, select the “Forgot

SPRING STUDENTS
For students entering in the spring,
Oct. 15 is the priority scholarship
deadline, and the final scholarship
deadline is the Friday before
spring classes begin. For more
information about your next steps,
visit okla.st/spring-dates.
Completed scholarship applications submitted by Nov. 1
will receive early opportunity scholarship consideration and
notification. Those submitted by Feb. 1 will receive priority
scholarship consideration. We will continue to accept updated
test scores and transcripts until the Friday before classes
begin for assured scholarship consideration.
Consideration for most university scholarships requires an
ocial test score from ACT or SAT, and we encourage
students to provide us their test scores as soon as they are
available for complete scholarship consideration. For more

Upon admission to OSU, all incoming
freshmen must pay a $300 enrollment
deposit to register for housing and sign
up for orientation and enrollment.
If you’re starting in the fall, submit
your enrollment deposit beginning
Dec. 1 by logging in to your application
portal. The enrollment deposit can be
refunded in part ($250) until May 1.

your enrollment deposit beginning
Sept. 1. The enrollment deposit can be
refunded in part ($250) until Dec. 15.
COMPLETE YOUR FAFSA
(Opens in Dec./Jan.)

To be considered for grants, loans, the
Federal Work-Study program and some
scholarships, you must complete the
Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. Submit your
FAFSA as soon as possible when it opens
in December or January, with the exact
date to be determined by the Department
of Education. Use OSU’s school code
(003170) to ensure we receive your
records.
Some financial aid awards are made on
a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s
important to complete the FAFSA as
soon as possible.
You may be asked to submit additional
documents by OSU’s Oce of
Scholarships and Financial Aid to
complete the process. Requests will be
sent to your OSU email. If you receive a
request for additional documents, it’s
important to respond quickly so your
potential student aid isn’t aected.
CHECK YOUR OSU EMAIL

Once your O-Key is set up, you can
access your OSU email account. OSU
will send scholarship and financial
aid award letters, housing selection
and enrollment dates to this email.
Check it at least once a week to stay
informed. You can access your OSU
email through your cellphone or
forward it to an existing account. Visit

more information, or contact the IT

Orientation prepares you for student life
in and out of the classroom. You’ll enroll
in classes, learn about campus resources
and more. Orientation is required for
new students, and multiple sessions
are available. Register beginning Feb. 1
at newstudents.okstate.edu. Once you
have registered, complete your Cowboy
360 Modules at orientation.okstate.edu.
You’re also encouraged to complete
the Math Placement Exam before
your orientation program. The
exam is required for all students
who do not have college-level math
credit. For more information, visit

an optional three-day event for new

several camps throughout the summer,
but dates fill quickly.
